Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an operation control device for a pump which is constituted to fully utilize capacity of a pump by providing full current capacity, which an electric motor has, regardless of an operation pump head. CONSTITUTION:In a pump unit comprising a turbo type pump 1; an electric motor 2 to drive the pump; and a frequency voltage converting device (a rest type inverter) 3 to feed a power to the electric motor, control is effected such that the number of revolutions of a pump is changed so that the current of an electric motor is adjusted to a constant value in spite of an operation pump head of the pump 1.
