Summary:PURPOSE:To inhibit the gelation of a cleaning soln. contg. a detergent for metal and prevent the foaming of the soln. and stably operate a cleaning apparatus over a long time by incorporating specified higher alcohol into the detergent. CONSTITUTION:When a metal is cleaned by immersion in a metal cleaning soln., a gelation inhibitor is added to the cleaning soln. This inhibitor contains higher alcohol represented by ROH (where R is >=14C satd. or unsatd. hydrocarbon). The foaming and gelation of the cleaning soln. are remarkably inhibited and an apparatus is operated over a long time without lowering the cleaning ability.
