Summary:PURPOSE:To shorten a preamble period and improve transmission efficiency by optically transmitting a burst signal corresponding to a preamble signal varying gradually from a high duty to a low duty. CONSTITUTION:When a frequency sweeping circuit is applied to a signal generating circuit 14, an alternating signal Sac which has a constant peak-to-peak voltage Vp-P amplitude and varies gradually from a specific low frequency to a specific high frequency is generated once the start point of time of the preamble period TNa is set by a CPU 10. At the same time, a threshold value setting circuit 15 is set at a voltage which is lower than the peak voltage of low level of the alternating signal Sac within a specific time TNaf from the start point of time of the preamble period TNa. In a period TNab from the end of the specific period to the end point of time of the preamble period TNa, the voltage is gradually increased to a voltage which is higher than the low level peak voltage of the signal Sac and a threshold value Vref of a voltage which is a half as high as the voltage Vp-P is generated at the end of the period TNa. The signal Sac and Vref are compared 16 with each other and a voltage '1' is outputted when Vref<=Sac.
