Summary:PURPOSE:To conduct desulfurization efficiently at a relatively low temperature by selecting a specified desulfurization agent in a particle fluidized bed desulfurizer. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus 9 is used in which particles of an inactive medium such as silica sand which are indifferent to a desulfurization agent and have a particle size of 200-2000mum are fluidized by gas containing SOX at 100 deg.C or higher but below 700 deg.C. In the apparatus, fine particles of a desulfurization agent 8 such as calcium hydroxide having a particle size of 1-80mum are fed continuously to be fluidized with the medium particles. Air from an air supply machine 1, after oil being removed with an oil filter 3, is measured of its flow rate by a flow meter 5, combined with SOX, and fed to a particle fluidized bed desulfurization reactor 9. When the temperature of the reactor 9 reaches a given point, the particles of a desulfurization agent 8 are fed continuously to conduct economical desulfurization efficiently.
