Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and to improve an S/N by eliminating influence due to the mixture of an external noise by performing the fetching of plural position signals in a processor simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:An alternating current or wave returned by reflecting on a position indicator 20 generates electrical signals based on the electromagnetic coupling function of position detecting members 11-15. Signal processing circuits 31-35 receive those signals, respectively, and hold five kinds of signals finally in signal holding circuits by applying parallel processing to them. The signals held by the signal holding circuits of the signal processing circuits 31-35 are converted to digital values via an input switching circuit 59 and an A/D converter 38, and after that, they are transmitted to a CPU 39. The CPU 39 calculates the X, Y coordinates of the position indicated on a tablet 10 of the position indicator 20 based on the five kinds of position signals. By performing such parallel processing, it is possible to reduce the power consumption and to improve the S/N by cancelling mixed external noises mutually.
