Summary: | PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a gas generating device for developing an air bag by a method wherein a gas outflow port is formed in the outer peripheral wall of a combustion chamber to contain a gas generating agent, a gas percolation filter is arranged on the inner side, a partition member having small holes is arranged therebetween, and a flow passage varying means for injection gas is arranged between the percolation filter and the partition member. CONSTITUTION:A combustion chamber 41 is in an annular plate-form state in the central part of which a through-hole is formed, a cylindrical part 53 is inserted through the central part of a cover member 51 in which an igniter 55 formed integrally with a bottom part is arranged, and an ignition agent 57 is contained between the bottom and the cylinder part. An annular gas percolation filter 67 is arranged along the inner side of an outer peripheral wall 45, a partition member 71 having a number of small holes 69 is arranged between a gas generating agent 43 and the cylindrical part, and a flow passage varying member 73 for combustion gas for the gas generating agent 43 injected through the small holes 69 is arranged between the gas percolation filter 67 and the partition member, Residue 81 in injected combustion gas is collected between the partition member 71 and the flow passage varying member 73, so that a need for an air filling chamber and a filter may be eliminated, and a device be simplified, and the size thereof may be reduced. |
