Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a fuel cladding pipe and a fuel rod which prevents the separation of adhering/activated iron crude or the like without arranging a device separately, and prevents/reduces an increase of the radiation dose at the surface of a piping system. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 11a, 11b... of h=4.5mum depth are formed at the surface of a fuel cladding pipe 1. The cross section shows a sine curve. The surface roughness H at this time agrees with the depth (h), that is, H=4.5mum. In general, particles of dp=H particle size are easiest to rigidly adhere and difficult to separate from the fuel cladding pipe 1 of H surface roughness. Most of the particles of iron crude are 2-12mum particle size, and particularly, many are 4-5mum particle size. Therefore, the fuel cladding pipe 1 adheres particles of 4.5mum particle size which are present many and prevents the separation of the particles, thus preventing an increase of the radiation dose and further reducing the radiation dose.
