Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a control device for controlling a thin plate cutting device and for automatically preparing work instructions for controlling the thin plate cutting device like a thin steel strip slitter machine by means of a computer. CONSTITUTION:A control device includes an input part 101 for inputting awarded products, materials, and constraint conditions for producing products by effectively utilizing materials, a processing part 102 for executing debranching, using depth priority search method at earlier timing and for determining work instructions, a solution of the number of products against materials, a memory part 103 for memorizing data processed in the processing part 102, and an output part 104 for outputting the solution determined in the processing part 102. In addition, the processing part 102 is provided with a split method determining part 106 for successively determining a material split method, an order solution, solution candidacy, and a solution, an order solution determining part 107, a solution candidacy determining part 108, and a solution determining part 109. Thus, debranching is done 7 at earlier timing.
