Summary:PURPOSE:To surely perform a cleaning operation even when a cleaning cartridge is reused in a camera where a magnetic head is cleaned by automatically performing the winding and rewinding of film when the cleaning cartridge is mounted in the camera. CONSTITUTION:The camera discriminates whether cartridges 2a and 2b are the cleaning cartridge 2b or not from the result obtained by reading the data disk 31 of the cartridge mounted in the camera, and when it is the cleaning cartridge 2b, the magnetic head is cleaned by performing the winding and rewinding of cleaning tape 1b, and after the finish of the cleaning operation the data disk is set to a state discriminated as being unexposed.
