Summary:PURPOSE:To unnecessitate the buffer area for a copy processing of a main storage device by executing the copy processing in an input and output controller by using a buffer in the device, and simultaneously executing an input and output starting instruction from an application program to the copy processing according to a flag control. CONSTITUTION:A copy mode flag and a read/write flag are prepared in a control table in a copy processing part 5 in a magnetic disk controller 3. At the time of accepting the input and output starting instruction for operating read/write from a host processor having an application program to a magnetic disk device or for starting the other inputting and outputting devices or the like from the application program 6, the input and output processing is operated. On the other hand, when the input and output starting instruction from the application program 6 is absent, the copy mode flag is turned on, the read/write flag is turned on/off according to read or write, and a buffer 4 in the magnetic disk controller 3 is ensured. Then, the copy processing is partially operated, and when it is ended, the copy mode flag is turned off.
