PURPOSE:To provide the backlight type liquid crystal display device which is light in weight, thin and portable and provided with a digitizer sensor function. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device constituted by successively arranging a liquid crystal display panel 2, light diffusion plate 3 and light transmission plate 4 equipped with a light source 5 at its side edge and a reflection layer 6 on its back is constituted by laying and fixing a sensor wire net 10 composed of the group of first extra fine insulated conductor sensor wires SX and the group of second extra fine insulated conductor sensor wires SY orthogonal with the group of the first sensor wires SX on the plate surface of this light transmission plate 4 on the side of the liquid crystal display panel 2. Therefore, since the sensor wire net is directly laid on the light transmission plate 4, the weight and thickness is completely equalized with that of the liquid crystal display device 1, no sensor wire shadow is projected on the display panel 2, the sensitivity and accuracy of position detection is extremely improved.
