Summary:PURPOSE:To make the connecting work of a wiring to a terminal base easier, and make the control box larger by a method wherein a constricting part which is depressed into an appliance case is formed at an upper part of a side panel which constitutes the appliance case for an outdoor unit, and in this constricting part, a terminal base is fixed. CONSTITUTION:The inside of an appliance case 1 for an outdoor unit is divided into the right and left by a partitioning plate 2, and a machine chamber 3 is formed on one side, and a heat-exchanging chamber is formed on the other side. In the machine chamber 3, a compressor 5 and control box 6, etc., are arranged, and on the right side surface of the control box 6, a terminal base 21 for the connection of an electric wiring to be connected to an indoor unit is provided. In this case, at a upper part of a side panel 32 to constitute a right side surface (1e) of the appliance case 1, a groove shaped constricting part 33 which is depressed to the inside of the appliance case 1 is formed. This contracted part 33 is equipped with a depressed groove 33A and tilted surfaces 33B which gradually extend on both sides of the depressed groove 33A. Then, the connection of an electric wiring, etc., are facilitated by providing the terminal base 21 a tilted surface 33C facing upward, which is located above the depressed groove 33A.
