Summary:PURPOSE:To make an ink difficult to adhere to a ribbon roller thereby to keep an ink ribbon to run properly at all times by forming the ribbon roller in touch with at least the side of the ink ribbon where the ink is applied of a material having favorable affinity to the ink. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon roller 5 is a hollow cylinder having flange parts 5a provided at both ends thereof to restrict the vibration of an ink ribbon up and down. The ribbon roller 5 is rotatably supported inside a ribbon cassette and rotated in accordance with the running of the ink ribbon. In this case, the ribbon roller 5 in touch with at least the side of the ink ribbon where the ink is applied is formed of a material having small affinity to the ink. Therefore, it is restricted that the ink adheres to the ribbon roller 5, so that running of the ink ribbon is maintained properly at all times and dropping of the ink from the ink ribbon is prevented.
