Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the document preparing device which improves a hit rate for outputting an intended KANJI (Chinese character only with one time of processing in the case of KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI conversion processing for acquiring the intended KANJI. CONSTITUTION:A word dictionary 15 stores the word of a KANJI description, reading, and plural kinds of information composed of the utilize field identification information of the word according to the reading of the word, and this device is provided with a dictionary control display part 3 equipped with a utilize field input part 13 for inputting the utilize field of a document, KANJI information extraction part 14 for preferentially extracting the word of the same utilize field from the word dictionary 15 based on a KANA character inputted by a character input means 2 and the utilize field inputted by the utilize field input part 13, and display part 16 for displaying the extracted word on a screen.
