Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the deposition of metal at a meniscus position by energizing the dipping part of a nozzle in molten metal to generate heat so as to indirectly heat the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:Electric current supplying lead parts 17 along side walls 8 having narrow width are beforehand connected with the lower end part of the nozzle 4 dipped into the molten steel with ceramic bolts having the same material as the electric current supplying lead part. Further, the electric current supplying lead part and the nozzle surface dipped into the molten steel are stuck with the insulating material 22. When the energizing heat generating nozzle 4 is energized, the tip part of the nozzle is preheated, and while rotating a casting belt and a shifting short side, the molten steel is supplied into a mold from a tundish through a sliding gate 5 and the energizing heat generating nozzle 4. The molten steel in the mold is cooled and solidified to form a cast slab and the cast slab is drawn out downward. By this method, to a part of the pouring nozzle in contact with the meniscus and the neighborhood thereof, the molten metal is not solidified and deposited, and the cast slab having good quality is obtd.
