Summary:PURPOSE: To obtain a receiver sheet suitable for use in both of an ink jet printing method and an electrophotographic copying/printing method by using paper, a transparent image or plastic coated with a quaternary ammonium polymer. CONSTITUTION: A recording sheet contains a coating substantially consisting of a quaternary ammonium polymer selected from a group consisting of a polymer represented by formula I, a polymer represented by formula II and a copolymer represented by formula III, an arbitrary binder polymer and an arbitrary filler. In the formula I, n is an integer of 1-200, R1 , R2 and R3 are respectively independently an alkylene group, a hydroxyalkyl group or a polyoxyalkylene group, p is an integer of 1 - about 10, q is an integer of 1 - about 10 and X is an anion. In the formulae II, III, R5 , R6 , R7 and R8 are also respectively independently the same groups as R1 , R2 , R3 , R4 .
