PURPOSE:To provide a back display device for automobile, which can perform the excellent back display, by making a sufficient quantity of regenerated light enter a rear window glass or a light guide plate, to which a hologram is fitted, efficiently. CONSTITUTION:The light radiated from a light source 5 enters a deformed prism 4, and at the time when the light is made to go out from one surface of this prism 4 into the air once, the flattening work is applied to a light flux to make it flat. This flat light enters a part of the prism 4 again, and enters a light guide plate 2, and the light, which is reflected and transmitted inside of the light guide plate 2, is applied as the regenerated light to a hologram 3 fitted to the light guide plate 2. The hologram 3 reflects the only light having a predetermined incidence and a predetermined wavelength (for example, red) to the nearly horizontal direction to display the stop display or the like backward of an automobile.
