Summary:PURPOSE:To drive an actuator for a micromachine irrespective of the external temperature by setting the polarity of a pair of porous electrodes to the predetermined one to ionize hydrogen of a hydrogen storage alloy so that the ionized hydrogen is supplied as hydrogen gas to a diaphragm to provide working pressure and the polarity is reversed to store the hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:When liquid 13 is extruded through a hole 11A in a receptacle 11, terminals 15F, 15G are connected to the terminals 15H, 15I of a DC power source 15E so that the polarity of a first porous electrode 15A is made negative and a second porous electrode 15C is made positive. Then, hydrogen stored in a hydrogen storage alloy 15D is ionized to form hydrogen ion which moves to the first porous electrode 15A to provide hydrogen gas. This hydrogen gas boosts hydrogen gas pressure in a diaphragm 12 to pressurize the liquid 13 in the receptacle 11 for fulfilling the function of an actuator. When the polarity of the first and second porous electrodes 15A, 15C is reversed, the hydrogen is stored by the reverse reaction.
