PURPOSE:To extremely suppress the variation in tension by quickly absorbing the variation in tension of a metal strip in a continuous process line. CONSTITUTION:By plural bridle rolls 12, 15 divided into two groups at the front and the rear parts, low mechanical loss of a dancer roll 18 arranged between two groups of the bridle rolls and a tension meter 23 are installed. In the variation of tension of the metal strip 31, the low frequency component is absorbed by the tension control of the bridle rolls 12, 15 and the high frequency component is absorbed by the tension control of the dancer roll 18. The variation in tension in charge of the dancer roll can be reduced and this moving range can be restrained be smaller. Therefore, the tension control effectively using the dancer roll of low mechanical loss in realized, and the variation in tension of the metal strip is restrained to be smaller and the metal strip can stably be passed through.
