Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a detection method universally applicable to each kind of structure and a load detection sensor used for it by a method for quantitatively detecting the degree of load applied, in the past, to a structure material, etc., in the structure. CONSTITUTION:A load detection sensor 1 where a plurality of sensing elements S1-S4 with constant breakdown characteristics and conductivity are used in parallel is combined with a material to be detected for example with an adhesive so that a distortion proportional to the distortion generated at the material to be detected and then the degree of past load is detected quantitatively according to the irreversible change of electrical resistance due to the breakdown generated in sensing elements S1-S4 of the load detection sensor, thus obtaining quantitative data regarding the degree of past load with an accurate corresponding to the degree of difference in breakdown characteristics of the sensing elements S1-S4 and universally applying them to various kinds of structures.
