BUS JOINT

PURPOSE:To joint laminated buses reliably both mechanically and electrically. CONSTITUTION:When buses 10-1W, 10-2W and 10-3W having identical width are T-branched, a rectangular planar conductor 11W is prepared and two buses 10-2W, 10-3W are welded to two short sides 14-2, 14-3 of the planar conduct...

Summary:PURPOSE:To joint laminated buses reliably both mechanically and electrically. CONSTITUTION:When buses 10-1W, 10-2W and 10-3W having identical width are T-branched, a rectangular planar conductor 11W is prepared and two buses 10-2W, 10-3W are welded to two short sides 14-2, 14-3 of the planar conductor 11W. The remaining bus 10-1E is welded to the center of long side 14-1 thus constituting the phases U and W of a three-phase distribution bus. With regard to the intermediate phase V, the planar conductors 11U, 11W of other phases are rotated by 90 deg. and the long side is connected with two buses whereas the short side is connected with one bus. All joints are covered with insulation coatings 12U, 12V and 12W. When the three-phase joints are superposed, the welded points are shifted from each other thus enhancing the strength and the electrical safety.
