Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent preservability and capable of smoothly coping with environmental pollution problems by incorporating a chitin-based polymer, a starch and a cellulosic polymer with an enzyme and microorganism capable of decomposing the polymers. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains (A) a polymer selected from chitin-based polymers (e.g. chitin, chitosan and chitin oligosaccharide), starches (e.g. starch, dextran and cyclodextrin) and cellulosic polymers (e.g. cellulose, hemicellulose and cellooligosaccharide) and (B) at least one kind of enzymes (e.g. alpha-amylase, beta-amylase and glucoamylase) and microorganisms (e.g. yeast belonging to the genus Saccharomyces or fungus belonging to Aspergillus used in alcoholic fermentation) capable of decomposing the above polymers.
