PURPOSE:To obtain a gastrointestinal medicine containing Phellodendri cortex, Ginseng radix, Glycyrrhrizae radix, and Paeoniae radix as main ingredients, effective for the therapy of diseases related to stomach and intestine in a wide period ranging from the active phase of the disease to the cicatricial phase, free from side effects, and capable of being safely used. CONSTITUTION:Phellodendri cortex powder, Ginseng radix powder, Glycyrrhizae radix powder and Paeoniae radix powder are homogeneously mixed with a binder and a disintegrating agent, further mixed with the aqueous solution of a nonionic surfactant as a binder solution, and subsequently granulated with a spherical granule-manufacturing machine. The manufactured granules are dried, and treated with a sieve to provide the granular agent having arranged granular diameters of <=4mm. A coating agent, a coloring agent and a lustering agent are added to the aqueous solution of a nonionic surfactant, and the mixture is sprayed and coated on the granular agent to provide the objective gastrointestinal medicine effective for the therapy of symptoms related to stomach and intestine in a wide period ranging from the active phase of the disease to the cicatricial phase.
