Summary:PURPOSE:To improve a drive efficiency and to simplify a wiring constitution by connecting a surface facing the electrodes of a plurality of electrode processed parts with a common electrode, by generating a progressive oscillatory wave in a vibrating body and by using the oscillatory wave as driving force. CONSTITUTION:An electrostrictive element 3 having a plurality of polarization processed parts 3a1-3a5, 3b1-3b5 is arranged in the first region and second region of the surface of a vibrating body, while a plurality of electrodes for applying cycle voltages respectively differing in phase to respective polarization processed parts 3a1-3a5, 3b1-3b5 are arranged in the surface of the electrostrictive element 3. Then, the surfaces facing the electrodes of respective polarization processed parts 3a1-3a5, 3b1-3b5 are connected with a common electrode, a progressive oscillatory wave is formed in the vibrating body, and the oscillatory wave is used as the driving force of a motor. Thus, it is possible to improve the drive efficiency of a motor and to simplify a wiring constitution.
