Summary:PURPOSE:To communicate outline of an entire picture string even when the transmission is finished at any point of time by communicating a series of the entire picture string equally timewise independently of a communication time when plural pictures having a timewise sequence relation are sent. CONSTITUTION:Pictures are communicated so that timewise resolution of a sent picture string changes from a rough resolution into a fine resolution based on a procedure revising the transmission sequence of pictures P1, P2,... forming the received picture string. Furthermore, picture transmission is finished when a new picture is received by a procedure terminating the transmission of the picture string through the detection of a transmission end signal and a received picture is rearranged in the time sequence or the resolution is changed timewise by a procedure revising the sequence of the pictures forming the received picture string at the reception side.
