Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a reinforcing member which is excellent in a quality of design and is capable of simplifying an assembling work and reducing cost, and provide a shelf in a chamber which is improved in a quality of design by making the reinforcing member inconspicuous. CONSTITUTION:A shelf in a chamber of a refrigerator is constructed such that a portion between a food placing surface 8 of a shelf of a synthetic resin in a chamber and a front flange 1d is made inclined, and a reinforcing rib 1b is formed on a rear surface of an intersection point between an inclined portion 1a and the front flange 1d. A front shelf ornament having a cross section of a substantially channel-shape is fitted on a groove 1e formed in the front wall of the shelf. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent the shelf in a chamber from bending, improve a quality of design and to simplify an assembling work.
