Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a flowmeter allowing accurate measurement by restraining the branch ratio of fluid to a branch path formed in a main passage from lowering thereby enhancing the straightening effect of fluid in the branch path and making uniform the temperature distribution of the fluid. CONSTITUTION:Turbulence of air flowing through an inlet opening 410 of a branch path into a heat-exchanging member 15 is straightened when the air passes through a through hole of the heat-exchanging member 15. Consequently, heat is exchanged well between the heat-exchanging member 15 and the air thus making uniform the temperature distribution of the air. The branch ratio is restrained from lowering when the straightened air having uniform temperature distribution flows into a measuring tube 430 having smaller cross-sectional area than a branch pipe 420. This structure allows accurate measurement of the flow rate of air using a heater 570 in the measuring tube 430, a thermometer 580, and a control circuit 114 in a circuit container 110 formed on the outside of a central tubular section 100.
