Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a shell for a hot-water heater which enables the brazing where a skirt frame is externally fitted over the shell to be visually checked for its condition in a simple manner. CONSTITUTION:For a hot-water heater a shell 10 for the combustion part and a shell 30 for the heat exchange part placed thereabove are connected in continuation by means of a skirt frame 20 for the connection. Small holes 24 for a visual check are formed in the skirt frame 20 at the part where it is laid on and brazed to the shell.
