Summary:PURPOSE:To reproduce an overwritten signal positively using a magneto-optical disk device which is capable of overwriting freely. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with an optical head 2 for outputting signals P1, P2, and PBRF based on the already recording signal of a magneto- optical disk, a tracking error signal generation circuit 3 for generating a tracking error signal TE based on the signal P1 and P2, and a linear motor 4 and a tracking actuator coil 5 for driving the optical disk 2 in tracking direction based on the error signal TE, thus outputting a reproduction signal PBD after performing a specific treatment to the signal PBRF. Then, it also consists of a reproduction signal processing circuit 6 for outputting a state signal EC for indicating the reproduction state of an already recorded signal, an error amplifier 7 for adding a tracking offset signal TOF to the error signal TE, and an MPU 8 for controlling so that the offset signal TOF is generated and then the specific reproduction signal PBD from the reproduction signal processing circuit 6 can be obtained by varying the amount according to the state signal EC.
