Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic bearing device based on the sliding state control theory, which restrains generation of heat of a call and a power amplifier, decreases power consumption and is improved in controllability. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic bearing device comprises a first coil 1 for letting only d.c. current equivalent to bias current flow according to the sliding state control theory, a second coil 2 for letting only on or off current for switching the sliding plane in the sliding state control theory flow, an electromagnet 10 having the first coil and the second coil 2 on the same control shaft and a d.c. power supply device 8 for supplying d.c. current to the first coil 1. Further, the bearing device comprises a sliding state control device 6 for computing a sliding state controlled variable according to the sliding state control theory and a power amplifier 7 for amplifying a sliding state controlled variable and supplying on or off current for switching a sliding plane to the second coil 2.
