Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent faulty image quality caused by paper powder by reversing a photosensitive material by specified amount immediately after completing a fixed cycle or just before starting the fixed cycle and dropping adhering and accumulated substance on the rubbing ridgeline of a cleaning blade. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of the photosensitive material 1 rotating in a processing direction is stopped simultaneously with the completion of a copying cycle, and immediately after that, the material 1 somewhat rotates in a direction reverse to the processing rotating direction of the material 1. By such reverse rotation, the tip part of the cleaning blade 5 on the outer periphery of the material 1 is positionally deviated. The dimension of the distance of deviation on the outer periphery of the material 1 is called reverse rotation amount. When the copying cycle is completed under a use condition that the ridgeline rubbing abutting force of the blade 5 is 4g/mm, a setting angle formed by the tangent of a photosensitive material surface 3 and the cleaning blade 5 is 70 deg., and rubbing relative speed between the material 1 and the blade 5 is 200mm/s, the product of the Young's modulus on the material of the blade 5 and the reverse amount is >=260. Thus, the paper powder adhering to the periphery of the rubbing ridgeline is accurately scraped.
