Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the subject latex suitable for a coating agent, etc., and excellent in storage stability, safety and hygiene, adhesiveness, hot water resistance, flexibility and water repellency, and containing alcohol not more than a specific amount, by condensing specific organic polymer powders and a specific rate of an alkoxysilane. CONSTITUTION:The objective latex is obtained by condensing 0.1-500 pts alkoxysilane such as tetramethoxysilane in the presence of 100 pts. (wt.) (based on solid) organic polymer particles such as PS latex having 0.05-10mum average size, which is dispersed in aqueous dispersing medium, and contains <=5wt.% alcohol.
