Summary:PURPOSE:To perform FAX-transmission or print-out of data by using application software by employing such constitution that an instruction to perform the print-out of the data is accepted as a transmission instruction to a specific destination. CONSTITUTION:A main control part 4 judges whether or not an opposite address and a FAX start-up instruction are received from a computer 1 by an interface 3, and compares the opposite address received by the interface 3 with a printer address stored in a RAM when they are received. When noncoincidence is obtained between them, the main control part 4 instructs the opposite address to a modem/line control part 5, and the mode/line control part 5 performs a call issuance operation and a call originating operation to a designated opposite address by using a line 7. While, when the non-coincidence is obtained between them. the main control part 4 performs communication with the computer 1 via the computer interface part 3 similarly as FAX transmission.
