Summary: | PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a thermometer while allowing the accurate measurement of temperature in a molten metal furnace. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple is contained in a protective pipe 4 to constitute a thermometer 3 which is then connected with a computor 15. The protective pipe 4 is immersed into a molten metal 18 and eventually lifted up before the molten temperature is reached. Detected data is fed to the computor 15 where true temperature of the molten metal 18 is estimated. Estimation is carried out intermittently. This method protects the thermometer 3 against melting while measuring the temperature accurately. |
