Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce equipment costs, maintenance service to be given and scope of checking of a fluidized bed boiler. CONSTITUTION:Retained water in a water storage tank 26 which is not fully filled is heated by means of heating piping 40 heated by steam provided by a pressurized fluidized bed boiler in order to be vaporized into a void space within the tank 26 so that the pressure within the water storage tank is kept higher than the operating pressure of the pressurized fluidized bed boiler. In an emergency, because upper hot water vaporizes itself, the decrease of the interior pressure within the emergency water storage tank 26 due to the reduction of the retained water is alleviated. If a pressurization control valve 25 is opened in an emergency, the water within the tank 26 vaporizes itself to assure the pressure. Thus, the pressurizing system of the prior art which uses nitrogen gas is no more needed, and production costs, maintenance service to be given and scope of checking can be reduced.
