Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the occurence of heating delay, etc., of a material to be heated by obtaining the lowest furnace temp. riquired for a control zone even in the case of the material to be heated existing at the front zone of the control zone and outputting the optimum setting furnace temp. at the present time satisfying the lowest furnace temp. and from the setting furnace temp. history curve extended to the future. CONSTITUTION:In a heating furnace composed of one or more of non-control zones and plural control zones, based on the furnace temp. history curve (S101) at a zone [n-1] at the front zone of the control objective zone n calculated or pre-obtd., the temp. at the outlet side in the front zone to each of the whole slab existing at the [n-1] zone is predicted (S102). At the same time, the necessary lowest furnace temp. satisfying the aimed temp. at the outlet side of the n zone to each of the whole slabs existing each of the [n-1] zone and the n zone is obtd. (S103, 104). Then, based on each calculated result, the smooth furnace temp. history curve in the n zone at more than the necessary lowest temp. to the whole slabs existing in the n and the [n-1] zone is prepared (S105). By this method, the degree of agreement between the setting furnace temp. and the actual furnace temp. is improved and the aim can be attained.
