PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound, having excellent herbicidal activity against weeds in paddy field and simultaneously capable of efficiently removing the weeds in the paddy field and further suppressing the phytotoxicity to paddy rice to an extremely low level. CONSTITUTION:This compound is expressed by formula I {A is formula II or III (X is halogen or 1-4C haloalkyl); B is formula IV or V [R is H, 1-4C alkyl; R is H, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C acyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R is H, 1-6C alkyl, 1-4C haloalkyl or CH2-OR (R is 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C acyl); (m) is 2-6; (n) is 0 or 1]}, e.g. N-[3-(1,1,1-trichloro-3-buten-3-yl) benzyl]acetamide. The compound expressed by formula I in which A is a group expressed by formula II is obtained by reacting a compound expressed by formula IV with a compound expressed by the formula CCl2XX' (X' is Cl or Br).
