Summary:PURPOSE:To facilitate order picking by opposing an end of a taking-in and-out device to the front face of a pallet and projecting the taking-in and-out device to be thrusted out to the extension part of a pallet support part after the pallet housed in a plurality of housing spaces on a shelf is mounted on a pallet support part. CONSTITUTION:After a pallet 19 supporting a load 18 placed on a load receiving bed device 9 by a fork lift truck or the like is transferred above a pallet supporting section 21 including a free roller conveyer 23 in a plurality of housing spaces 2 provided on a shelf 1 by the travelling of a travelling machine body 11, the vertical movement of a carriage 13 and projecting motion of a taking-in and-out device 14, the pallet 19 is mounted on the pallet support section 21 by the lowering of a carriage 13. The pallet 19 is if necessary pushed to an extension part 21A through the taking-in and-out device and the pallet 19 in the pushed-out position is prevented from moving back by the action of a stopper 26. In such a position order picking is carried out properly by an operator at the picking area 4 side to properly recover the emptied pallet 19.
