Summary:PURPOSE:To realize the liquid crystal display element having a high display grade by improving the excellent controllability in gradation display and improving a visual angle characteristic. CONSTITUTION:The electric resistance formed out of a first TFT element 15 and a second TFT element 17 is connected in series to a liquid crystal cell 21 of a second display region, there by, the difference between the electric field intensity by the voltage impressed to the liquid crystal cell 19 of a first display region by the partial voltage of the electric resistance thereof and the electric field intensity by the voltage impressed to the liquid crystal cell 21 of the second display region, is largely taken and the controllability of the gradation display is improved, and the visual angle characteristic is improved as well. Moreover, the drop of the holding voltage with the lapse of time and the fluctuation therein occurring in the redistribution, etc., of the accumulated charges between the liquid crystal cell 19 and the liquid crystal cell 21, are averted.
