Summary:PURPOSE:To calculate a battery residual quantity by finding battery consumption from a measured output current, a time interval of a detecting cycle and application voltage found from data corresponding to the battery residual quantity and the application voltage, and taking into consideration a previous detection time residual quantity. CONSTITUTION:The lapse of specified measurement interval time is recognized by counting clock signals of a timer part 19, and an output current of a battery 11 is measured by an ammeter 16. Next, application voltage corresponding to a previous measuring time battery residual quantity is specified by referring to data corresponding to a battery residual quantity and battery voltage stored in a memory part 18. In succession, battery consumption up to this time measurement from previous time is calculated by multiplying three of the application voltage, a measured output current and the specified measurement interval time by each other. Next, the previous time battery residual quantity is converted into an electric power quantity, and this time battery residual quantity is found by subtracting battery consumption (power supply quantity) measured this time, and it is displayed on a display part 21.
