Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a controller for a nozzle moving type burner in which generation of soot, carbon monoxide, etc., is suppressed when a combustion amount is varied. CONSTITUTION:When a combustion amount is varied, nozzle moving amount calculating means 22 obtains a moving amount of a nozzle with respect to change of the combustion amount, and damper moving amount calculating means 23 obtains a moving amount of a damper with respect to the change of the combustion amount. Then, memory means 30 stores a delay type for so previously driving which of the nozzle and the damper that an air-fuel ratio entirely becomes stable during changing corresponding to change of combustion and a delay time until the other is driven after either the nozzle and the damper is previously driven. Delay type-delay time identifying means 25 identifies the delay type-delay time with respect to the change of the combustion amount based on the storage. Control means 26 moves the nozzle based on the calculated result of the means 22 and the identified result of the means 25. Damper drive control means 27 moves the damper based on the calculated result of the means 27 and the identified result of the means 25.
