Summary:PURPOSE: To adjust a position of a cutting tool for forming a desired accurate cylindrical machining surface in the axial direction and the circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION: An inclination angle adjusting means for inclining a cutting tool holder 4 is mounted between the bite holder 4 on which a cutting tool 12 is mounted and a support means connected with the cutting tool holder 4. The desired controlled pressure PST is generated by a pressure adjusting means 20 to which the pressurized fluid is supplied at all times on the basis of a signal from a stroke.rotary angle detecting means 56 detecting the feeding amount and the rotation angle of the cutting tool 12. The controlled pressure acts on the inclination angle adjusting means for displacing the cutting tool 12 by a unit of several μm. Whereby a cylindrical hole 18 formed on a work 16 and an outer surface of a rotary body can be precisely cut.
