Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high electrode filling property and a high energy density by using a positive electrode, a negative electrode and the electrolyte, which are respectively composed of the specific composition, to form a battery. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode is made of the carbon material having a true density at 2.1g/cm or more and the spacing of the 002 surface less than 34nm and the thickness of crystal of the 002 surface in the axial direction at 16.0nm or more and a G value of Raman spectrum at 2.5. A positive electrode is made of the transition metals compound oxide, which includes lithium at a quantity corresponding to the charge and discharge capacity at 250mAh or more per unit weight of the carbon material of the negative electrode. The electrolyte is obtained by dissolving the electrolyte in the non-aqueous solvent, which includes ethylene carbonate. A secondary battery consists of these positive electrode and negative electrode and electrolyte, and furthermore, a battery having a high electrode charging property and a high energy density is obtained by using the material, which is mainly composed of EC, as the non-aqueous solvent.
