Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of an uninterruptible power supply employing an enclosed lead battery. CONSTITUTION:The uninterruptible power supply comprises a first service life decision means 11 for deciding whether the temperature of an enclosed lead battery 6 is higher than a predetermined level and altering the counting rate of a timer 11C thus indicating the end of service life of the enclosed lead battery 6 when the timer 11C counts up, and a second service life decision means 12 for indicating the end of service life of the enclosed lead battery 6 when the discharge voltage after short time discharge of the enclosed lead battery 6 drops below a predetermined level. The uninterruptible power supply further comprises a third service life decision means 13 for indicating the end of service of the battery 6 when the open voltage thereof drops below a predetermined level, and a fourth service life decision means 14 for indicating the end of service life of the battery 6 when the internal impedance of the battery 6 is higher than a predetermined value.
