Summary: | PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by generating fist pulses with a prescribed time width by a monostable multivibrator responding to an external step pulse and generating second pulses with a narrower pulse width responding to the first pulses and using the second pulses as internal step pulses. CONSTITUTION:The monostable multivibrator MMV 19 responds to an external step pulse transmitted to a line 15 from a host device 7 and generates pulses having a half time width. An edge detection circuit 21 in a pulse generating circuit 20 outputs trigger pulses which are respectively synchronized to the leading and the trailing edges of output pulses of the MMV 19 and internal stepping pulses with a narrower time width are generated by an MMV 22. These pulses are decided while having no relationship to the output of a clock pulse generator 29. Thus, even if the power supply of the generator 29 is turned off while a floppy disk device is in its sleeve condition, no adverse influence caused by unstable operations of the generator 29 during its starting is effected and power consumption is reduced. |
