Summary:PURPOSE:To raise nutrients sedimented in deep sea bottom to the shallow sea area. CONSTITUTION:Nutrients sedimented on sea bottom are raised to shallow sea area by placing an upswelling flow generation means in the upper part of a large cylinder having the lower part positioned close to the nutrient layer in a deep sea. The apparatus to raise the nutrients from the sea bottom to the shallow sea area is provided with a reinforced concrete cylinder having an inlet port opened on the lower side wall and vertically fixable on the sea bottom and with an intermittent pneumatic water-lifting apparatus having a water-lifting cylinder. The lower end of the water-lifting cylinder is positioned at the upper inner part of the reinforced concrete cylinder.
