Summary:PURPOSE:To control the rotation of a disk medium at a prescribed rotational speed by restarting it even in the case of occurring a step-out phenomenon in a disk device for driving the disk medium by a stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:A detection means 16 detects the fact that a driving current ID to be supplied to a driving means 27 from a current supply means 15 becomes larger than a prescribed value due to the step-out phenomenon of a stepping motor 14 and generates an over current detection signal h. A second control means 17 controls a first control means 26 based on the signal h so that the motor 14 again rotates at a prescribed sped corresponding to a control signal CEX from the means 26 when the rotational speed of the motor 14 is reduced due to the step-out phenomenon of the motor 14 without depending on the control signal CEX and the current ID become less than a prescribed value.
