Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent the partial wear of a journal bearing from occurring by keeping off a vibration in an engine due to the material unbalance between two crank parts for the third and fourth cylinders. CONSTITUTION:A counter weight 14 is formed in only one crank arm 12a of four crank parts 21 to 24 for those of first, second, third and fourth cylinders of a crankshaft 10, and a ringlike balancer driving gear 15 is tightly installed in a crank arm 12b with no counter weight 14 of the crank part 24 for the fourth cylinder. An offsetting balance part M is solidly formed in the other side crank part 12b with no counter weight 14 of at least the crank part 23 for the third cylinder. This offsetting balance part M offsets the material unbalance between the third cylinder crank part 23 and the fourth cylinder crank part 24 due to a fact that the balancer driving gear 15 is installed tight. |
