Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a manufacturing method of an oil level gauge suitable for production of various kinds of oil level gauges, of which the shaft parts are different from each other in length, possible to minimize the number of metal molds, easy to maintain and control and possible to manufacture at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A cover part 1 furnished with a grip part 2 on its outside surface side and a screw part 3 on its inside surface side and a shaft part 4 the section of which is sequare are integrally moulded of a heat resistant synthetic resin material by injection molding. By a press machine, the head end side of the shaft part 4 is cut in accordance with length of an oil level gauge 10, and simultaneously, a scale 6 for measurement of oil level is stamped on the head end part of the cut shaft part 4.
