Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an operating method of a zinc smelting equipment capable of surely preventing the explosion of carbon monoxide in an emergency. CONSTITUTION:When supply of either of the feeds to be supplied into a reducing furnace is stopped, the stopping of supply is detected, and supply of all other feeds is stopped, the inert gas is blown into the zinc smelting equipment from the supply side of the reducing furnace, and the positive pressure in this zinc smelting equipment is maintained. This constitution surely prevents the explosive combustion of carbon monoxide caused by the stopping of the operation.
